Undo reconciliation In QuickBooks Online

Reconciliation is an integral part of account balancing, and doing it yourself may pose more problems than solution. QuickBooks accounting software allows you to reconcile your accounts, undo reconciliation without doing anything manually. This helps to cut back much time that would have been wasted doing it manually.

How to Undo Reconciliation Manually
- Select the gear icon then click chart of accounts.
- Search for the account row you wish to view and select account history or view register.
- Then you identify the particular account you want to edit and then go to the reconcile status which is usually indicated by a check mark beside it.
- Select the top mark to change it.
- Note that
- C – cleared
- R – Reconcile
- Blank – Neither cleared nor reconciled
- Click on the gear icon at the top and select reconcile.
- At the top of the screen, click on history by account, this will display the page for history by account.
- Click on the account you want to edit and select report period. You can find the required account by looking at the ending date on the statement.
- Click on the action column and select undo from the drop-down list.
- A confirmation will pop up which you review and click on yes to continue.
- Click on Ok.
- For transactions posted to your ledger, click on reports and select account and taxes.
- Then you click on voided/deleted transactions.
- Then you need to enter the date you deleted the transaction and re-enter the transaction.
- For transactions like sales order and purchase order can’t be recovered using the steps mentioned above, since they are not posted to the ledger.

- Ability to accept payments from credit cards.
How to Undo Reconciliation Entirely
Before you can undo an entire Quickbooks online undo reconciliation, you first have to edit every transaction manually. To that, you need to use your bank statement and (or) reconciliation report to verify which transaction requires reconciliation. After you have done, you can then proceed to undo your reconciliation.
Note: when you undo reconciliation, all the reconciliation that comes after the date will automatically undo too.
