2Download and Install on iOS
- Open the “App Store” from your iOS device and search for the "PDFelement" in the search toolbar.
- Click on the “Get” button present with the program application.
- Click on the “Install” button on the pop-up window and install the program.
- Click on the “Open” button to open the installed program.
- To use PDFelement for iOS, you need consent to the "Privacy Policy" and "End User License Agreement". “Agree” on the license agreement and the privacy policy of the installed application.
Register (Remove Trial Watermark)
1Trial Version Limitations
After downloading and installing, you only get the trial version. Trial version of PDFelement for iOS may have limited features.

2Purchase PDFelement for iOS

3Register PDFelement for iOS

- Once the program is purchased through the App Store of the device, you can launch the purchased application again.

4Remove Trial Watermark
- The document files you worked on during the trial version will have the watermark on them. After registration, the complete registered version program does not have any limitations to be used.
- To remove the trial watermark, open the document file again in the registered PDFelement for iOS. The trial watermark on the file will be removed automatically.

Create New
PDFelement for iOS is a robust PDF editor tool that provides the easiest way to create attractive PDF documents and forms. It is an all-in-one solution for PDF, which allows you to create, open, edit, save, print, and markups PDF. You can open a PDF file and edit the view of the document and more.
You will find different ways to create a new PDF by clicking on the '+' plus button right corner of the screen.
- Create New PDF or Folder: Click on the '+' (Plus) button on the bottom right corner of the screen. Under "Create New" option, click on "Create Folder" or "Create PDF". You can create a new PDF or create a new folder to save PDF.

Scan: Click on the "Scan" button to create a new PDF file from the camera. It automatically activates the camera of the device.
Import From
- Files:
Click on '+' > 'Import From'> 'Files' and browse to local folder. Make modifications in the file and save the changes to the preferred destination.
- Photos: PDFelement for iOS supports the creation of a new PDF file from photos stored on the device.
- Computer: At here, you can also import PDF files from computer. Enter the address shown on the screen in the browser on a computer. Then upload the file from a local computer.
Page View Mode
PDFelement for iOS allows some settings to view the PDF document files in different modes, which can be used accordingly to provide better presentation such as layout, fit on the screen, etc. Additionally, PDFelement for iOS allows users to change these settings to present a view mode.

Scroll Direction: In this, you can view pages of the PDF file in two modes, i.e., vertical mode and horizontal mode.

Enable Scrolling: Pages of the PDF file are arranged in the vertical column on the screen when enabling scrolling.

Page Navigation
If you are working on a large PDF file, scrolling through the document is a tiresome task. Page navigation helps you to navigate to particular pages of opened documents.

Navigation Panel
Navigating PDF documents are very intuitive with PDFelement for iOS. In the navigation panel, you can navigate through the pages of your active PDF document using the navigation buttons in the right floating bar. You can find "Thumbnail Panel", "Bookmark Panel", "Comment Panel", and "Search Panel", which is a great help while working with large PDF documents.
1Thumbnail Panel
Thumbnails Pane displays thumbnail images of each page of the active document, allowing you to scroll through pages using the panel's slider quickly. You can change the order of the pages by dragging the thumbnails in the 'Thumbnail Panel.'

2Bookmark Panel
You can set bookmarks to go to different pages in the document. PDFelement for iOS allows you to connect with specific text in the "Bookmark Panel" on the screen's right side. You can use the forum to navigate through the bookmark of your choice. Steps to create a Bookmark are as follows:
- Open the PDF page where you want to add a bookmark.
- Click on the "Bookmark" button at the bottom to edit the bookmark name.
- Click on the bookmark to navigate through the PDF.
3Comment Panel
You can add comments on the PDF document using PDFelement for iOS. If you've added any comments to the PDF document, you can find a list of them here. The words can by page number, date, author, and type sorted. You can navigate to a specific location in the documents by clicking on the comments.
4Search Panel
PDFelement for iOS has a potent inbuilt search tool that allows you to navigate through PDF documents whining for specific text in the file.
Edit Texts

1Edit Text
With PDFelement for iOS, you can edit the desired text, line, or paragraph by typing new text and deleting text, and changing the font, font size, color, etc., in a PDF file. To edit the text in PDF files, follow the steps given below:
- Tap on the "Text" button at the centre of the PDF page on the top, which allows you to enter new text and make changes to the existing text.
- Click on the paragraph, line, or text you want to make changes, and then tap on the edit option.
- Now choose the font, size, color, etc., as you need for the edited text or paragraph in your PDF file.
2Add Text
With the same PDFelement for iOS, you can also Add Text in the PDF file by typing the new desired text you want in your PDF file. To add text in your PDF file, follow the steps below:
- Tap on the "Text" button at the centre of the screen on the top. "Add Text" will appear on the screen. Click on it.
- Click the portion on the document's page to place the new text and tap edit in options that appeared on the screen. Now you can insert the new text on the existing PDF files.
- Select the font, font size, color, layout, etc., as per your wish for a text or paragraph.
Edit Images

1Add Image
With PDFelement for iOS, you can now easily add images to your document file to make it more attractive to read and understand these added images. An image supports the formats: jpg, jpeg, BMP, png, tiff, gif. to add an image to the PDF page.
- Click on the “Image" button currently present in the center of the device screen. Click “Add Image” and select & insert the desired image from your device directly.
- Click and hold on the edge to resize as needed and move the image as required. Tap and drag the image to the appropriate location. Using the arrow keys on the keyboard will allow for precise movements of the pictures.
2Delete Image
You can also delete or remove the picture from the PDF page with PDFelement for iOS. Select and long-press the image you want to withdraw from the PDF page. After pressing for a long, some options will appear on the screen where the delete option is also present. Click on the “Delete” option. Your image gets removed from your document.
3Copy/Paste Image
If you want to duplicate any image in your document file, you have the option of copy and paste the pictures in PDFelement for iOS. It has simple steps; you need to select the image you want to copy elsewhere on the PDF document page and long-press the image. After long pressing, options appear on the screen, which also includes the copy option. Click on the “Copy”. Now, select the section where you want to paste the image, and a long-press will give you the “Paste” option.
4 Rotate/Replace/Extract/Crop Image
If you want to change your images, such as rotate/replace/extract or crop. All options come with a single click. You need to long-press the image you want to edit with these options, and they appear on your device screen.
- Rotate: The Orientation of the selected image in the document is changed.
- Replace: New image added in the document file as a substitution to the previous one.
- Extract: Selected photo taken out from the PDF document.
- Crop: Adjust the image only to show the essential aspects of the form.
Fill in Forms

1Fill Interactive Forms
- Open the form within PDFelement for iOS to fill in an interactive PDF form. Click on the fillable fields or boxes. And click on the 'Edit' option to do the modification.
- As you start editing the document, the "Save" icon will appear on the top left side. Tap on the 'Save' icon to save your changes. Alternatively, you can click on the "Three Dots" icon on the top right and save a file in the local folder.

1Rotate PDF Pages
- Open the PDFelement for iOS, and select the PDF document you want to organize. Click on “Organize Pages” on the top-right corner panel. After that, all PDF pages will align in a line.
- Click on the edit option, present in the top-right corner. You will find “Rotate” at the bottom panel.
- Select a PDF page or select multiple pages by tapping on it to rotate the page. Then, click the “Rotate” to rotate it. You can spin it in any direction.
2Delete PDF Pages
- Open the PDFelement for iOS, and select the PDF document you want to organize. Click on “Organize Pages” in the top-right corner. After that, all PDF pages will align in a line.
- Click on the edit option, present in the top-right corner. You will find the “Delete” option after a rotation at the bottom panel.
- Select a PDF page or select multiple pages as per your consideration by tapping on it to delete the page. Then, click the “Delete” to remove it.
3Insert PDF Pages
PDFelement for iOS supports the insertion of pages, blank pages, or photos from your device's other sources.
- Open the PDFelement for iOS, and select the PDF document you want to organize. Click on "Organize Pages" in the top-right corner. After that, all PDF pages will align in a line.
- Click on the edit option, present in the top-right corner. You will find the "More" option.

- Click on the edit option, present in the top-right corner. You will find the “Extract” option before a delete at the bottom panel.
- Select a PDF page or select multiple pages as per your consideration by tapping on it to delete the page. Then, click the “Extract” to remove it.
Change Page Order
- Open the PDF documents stored on the device. Click on the "Organize Pages" function on the right column. Here you can edit the PDF documents using an option like change page order, extract. Insert or delete the PDF page.
- Click on the "Edit Page" button option on the top right corner, which will activate the various options to organize the page.
- Now, long press on the page you want to move and drag the page to the document's correct place.
Combine Multiple Files into One PDF
- Open PDFelement for iOS. Click on the "Select" button on the top right corner of the screen. It will allow you to select the multiple files stored on the device.
- Now select the documents you want to merge by tapping on the document icon's checkboxes.

Text Markups

1Highlight
- Open your PDF file and click the "Markup" button on the top-center of your device screen. Tap on "Highlight" present first in a panel, and different fluorescent colors appear on the screen.
- Choose the colors of your choice from the highlight panel and then select the text or sentence, or paragraph you want to highlight for attention or reference. Drag the cursor and highlight immediately.
2Strikethrough and Underline
- Open the PDF document and click the "Markup" button at the screen's top-center. The panel will open with options, where you'll find the "Strikethrough." Tap on it and choose the color of your choice and then select the text to markup.
- Open the document file and click the "Markup" button. The panel opens, also has the underlining option present. Click on the "Underline" button. Now you can choose the color of your choice and text to underline.
Comments
A comment is a note on the document as an opinion or expresses a personal reaction. Comments are vital when developing PDF documents in association with other team members. They are used to mark areas in documents that need attention. You can add, edit, delete, and move the comments with ease in PDF documents using PDFelement for iOS. Also, you can change the property of the added comments just by right click or double click. In PDFelement for iOS, you can add "Text Comments", "Text Callout", "Sticky Notes", and "Text Boxes".
1Text Comment
You can give a text comment to indicate that section of the document content requires modification. It is crucial in a professional space where the team works on the same document; a comment works as a suggestion or note to another team member. To add Text Comments, follow the below steps:
- Click on markup on the top of the screen, and then click on "Text Comment".
- From the dropdown, choose text font color and size.
- Now tap on the PDF document where you want to add the text.
- Tap again to edit or delete the text comments.
2Text Box
The "Text box" option allows adding the visible box with text messages enclosed in it. "Text Box" will enable you to bring attention to essential lines in the PDF document. Follow the steps by steps guide below to add a Text box.
- Open the document in PDFelement and click on the markup tool on the toolbar on the screen's top.
- Click on the "Text Box" option in the floating toolbar.
- Tap and drag to create the box and add the text inside the box.
- Change the font, color, background, and border of the "Text Box".
3Text Callout
The text callout feature allows you to add a short string of text connected by a graphical illustration or technical drawing and give information about the particular part. Below are steps to add text callout in the PDF document.
- Open the PDF and click on the markup tool. And from the dropdown, click on text color, background, border, and font.
- Click on the PDF where you want to add "Text Callout".
- Add the text in the callout box.
4Sticky Note
You can use the "Add Sticky Note" feature to give instructions or leave your comments on the PDF page, which directs the readers to a specific area on the document. Below are steps to add sticky notes.
- Open the PDF document and click on the markup tool and click on "Sticky Note" in the floating toolbar.
- Click on the PDF document where you want to sticky notes.
- You can tap on the sticky notes to edit and delete them.
Stamps
The stamp annotation on a PDF considers being viewed just like an ink stamp document. Stamp used to approve a date, a name, and a signature on a technical drawing. There are some built-in stamps available in PDFelement for iOS, and you can create your signature or images as the stamps.
1Built-in Stamp
- Click on the "Markup button" present in the center of the screen on your device. More tools for use in the PDF document will open.
- Click on the "Stamp" tool present at the right corner on the second last number in the tools.
- After clicking on the stamp, different build-in logos appear on the screen, and you can choose the one you need for your PDF document. Place the cursor on one box on the edge of the stamp to resize through dragging in the direction required. It's also possible to carry the stamp by clicking and holding on it or using the arrow keys for precise movements.
2Signature
- You can create your signature as the stamp to add to your PDF document files. For that, click the "Markup" tool at the center of the device screen. This click will introduce many more options that can use in the PDF document.
- After that, click on the "Signature" button to create the signature you need on your PDF document. You will get two options here, "Create Signature" and "Add a Temporary ignature". Choose the one you need, and then add your signature to the PDF document file.

1Add Drawing Shapes to PDF
- Choose the Markup and click on the "Shapes Tools" in the floating toolbar, and from the dropdown, choose the shape to add from the list.

Click on the PDF page to draw the shape and drag to draw an arrow, line, circle, or rectangle. You can also change the thickness, opacity, and color of shapes.

Rectangle: Rectangle is the most used area shape. This symbol is most commonly used to highlight some point or indicate something inserted in the document.

- Click on the "Markup" in the toolbar and select the "Pencil" tool.
- Choose the color, thickness, and opacity of the pointer.
- Click and drag the pointer on the screen to create the image that you need.
- If you need modification, you can use the intelligent eraser tool to erase or remove the drawing's part to make changes.
- Select eraser, either partial or whole mode and reduce or increase the size eraser as per your requirements.
Password
PDF security includes features like encryption that ensure data integrity. It may be required to limit who can open, edit, or print a PDF document for security reasons. PDFelement for iOS supports setting an open password to your PDF files. Intended to differentiate an authorized user from an unauthorized user.

- After launching, select the document file and tap on it to open the file.

- Launch the PDFelement for iOS App on your iPad. Open the PDF file from the device. Click on the Markup tool in the toolbar at the top of the screen and choose the floating toolbar's sign option.
- Create digital signature by clicking on the "Create Signature" button in the dropdown. It will open the screen where you can create a signature by signing with a stylus or with a touch of a finger. You can also use "Add Temporary Signature" to sign directly on the document.
- To sign any document, click on the signature and then click on the PDF document to add the signature.

Optimize PDF
Optimize Option allows PDF files to display the first few pages of the PDF file when the document opened, instead of waiting for the entire file to be available. The optimized function can help reduce the file size of a document to facilitate transferring and saving in a local folder. With PDFelement for iOS, you can use the optimize function to compress the file size and remove unwanted objects from your PDF files. Below are the steps followed for optimizing your PDF file.
- Select a PDF File you want to make smaller or compressed. Open the PDFelement for iOS. Tap on the right-side top corner menu of the screen on your device and click the “Optimize PDF.” It will automatically reduce the PDF file size.
- After taping on PDF Optimizer, you can select the PDF Quality (Max, High, Medium, Low, Lowest) according to the user requirement. Tap on “Save as Optimized PDF.”
- After clicking on save as optimized PDF, you can save the PDF in local folders on your devices such as “Wondershare” shown in the below picture and then click on save. Now, you can see the function.
