How to Save Google Reader Articles as PDF files

Want to know how to save Google Reader articles to PDF format to save on your local hard drive? Here is the method.

Have found many interesting or useful articles in Google Reader and hope you could save them as PDF file in your local hard drive? That's the common situation in daily life. People like to collect what they're fond of.

Why save Google Reader articles?

Google Reader is a place that gathers your favorite blogs and sites. Every day, Google Reader monitors the feed you've subscribed for update. That means piles of newest articles, newsletters, news are update in your Google Reader. If you do not have time to read them regularly, soon you could find that you're buried in them. In that case, it is not easy for you to find a specific article you like among these files. Of course, you can mark it by adding start, sharing it to the social media or anything like that. However, as time passes by, some web might delete these old articles. And sometime when you need the article but you cannot access to the Internet.

Why save Google Reader articles as PDF files?

PDF is the most widely used e-book format. It could be opened in PC, Mac, tablet and portable devices, so it is easy for you to mange PDF files on your devices and share PDF files with other people, without considering whether they could open the PDF or not.

Why save Google Reader articles as PDF files?

Log in your Google Reader and click the "Reader settings" button on the upper right of the page and choose "Reader settings" in the drop-down list.

On the settings page, click the "Send-to" tab. Click the "create a custom link" at the bottom of the page. Then in the pop-up box, fill in the information:

  1. Name: Save as PDF
  2. URL: http://savepageaspdf.pdfonline.com/pdfonline/pdfonline.asp?cURL
  3. Icon URL: http://www.adobe.com/lib/com.adobe/template/icon/pdf.gif

Return to the interface of Google Reader. Open an article in Google Reader and you'll see tool bar at the bottom. Click on "Send to", and in the drop-down list, choose "Save as PDF". Then a page could pops up, detecting and converting the article to PDF.

Pretty easy, isn't it? Now whenever you encounter a useful article, click the "send to> save as PDF" to save it as PDF format and enjoy it offline. When reading a PDF file, you might need to annotate the PDF content on Wondershare PDFelement.
