Are you searching for a way to insert music or audio to a PDF file? It is a new fashion to insert music into a PDF slideshow because it is going to make the PDF file more interesting and marvelous, or ever arise people's interest in your project written in the PDF. In the past, it was impossible. But now you can do that easily with Adobe Acrobat to add audio to PDF files. In this article, we discuss how to add music to a PDF by using Adobe Acrobat. Let's get down to the work right now!

What you need: music or audio (any format that are compatible with Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional) and Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional

Steps to add music/audio to PDF Files:

Step 1: Select the PDF page in which you're going to add the music

Step 2: Select Sound Tool by navigating to Tools>Advanced Editing> Sound Tool.

Or you can select the Sound Tool(speaker) directly from the Advanced Editing Toolbar.

Step 3: Specify an area in the PDF that will play the music/audio when clicking on.

Just like in PowerPoint, drag the rectangle that appears on the PDF to the area you need it to be. When you do that, the Add Sound dialogue box could pop up.

Step 4: In the Content Settings section, click a radio button to choose the music you need to add in the PDF.

Be careful, the music format should be compatible with Adobe Acrobat 6 Professional. Otherwise, you will fail to embed music/audio to the PDF page.

Step 5: Just as what you do as usual, browse the music file in your local drive and select the desired music to finish the adding file dialogue.

Step 6: Customize the active area.

  • Use No Poster is the default setting which means you're going to play the music by clicking the active area, which has a border.
  • Create Poster From File means you can customize the active area with an image, which of course, needs extra work in adjusting the image.

Step 7:When everything is ready, click OK to finish the whole process of adding the sound to the PDF.

That's how to add music to PDF file via Adobe Acrobat.

You might need to create an active area with an image. In that case, you should use Wondershare PDFelement to insert image into PDF beforehand, which is much easier to use and much much cheaper. And then create a hotspot around that image.
