Part 2How to Edit Text in PDF on Mac (El Capitan and Sierra Included)

PDFelement for Mac is compatible with macOS X 10.10 (Yosemite), 10.11 (El Capitan) and 10.12 (Sierra). Download and install this application to get started.

Step 1. Open PDF File on the Program

Once you have downloaded and installed PDFelement on your Mac. Launch it to add files to the program. Just click on the "Edit PDF" button, which is boldly indicated under the blue area. The very PDF file will then be opened on the program.

Alternatively you can add files to the program by clicking on "Open File" button on the Home window. The program will then direct you to you the finder where you will have to search and open the PDF file you want to edit.

Step 2. Start Editing Text in PDF

At the top tool bar, click the "Edit" button to enter editing mode. You can then click the text block to modify, insert or delete text. To easily and smoothly edit text, you can also choose between "Paragraph Mode" and "Line Mode". Then you can edit text in line or paragraph bounding box.

To add new text block, you can click "Edit > Add Text". Use your mouse to draw a text block anywhere on your document and then type in text inside it. To remove unwanted text, you can select the text and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.

Step 3. Save PDF after Editing

To apply the changes made permanently, you need to save your work. Go to "File" and click on the "Save" option. You have now edited text on your PDF file.

Part 3How to Edit PDF with Preview on macOS

Preview is another solution to edit PDF text on Mac. Here we'll also show you how to make editions to text on PDF with Preview.

Step 1. Edit PDF Text with Preview

Open PDF files in Preview, and then click on the "T" icon on the menu tab. After a new text box appear in the PDF, you can put text on the box to add PDF text to the file. You can also go to "Tools" and click on "Text Selection". There you can select the text of the PDF and right click to copy them out.

Step 2. Add Annotation to PDF with Preview (Optional)

After editing PDF text, you can also insert annotations to PDF file for your own use. Click the "Note" icon on the menu bar. Then click on the location within the PDF where a note must appear. Here you can insert comments in the text box for annatation. You can also drag your mouse to create the required annotation.

Shapes and signature are also available on Preview. Click on "Tools" and then select "Annotate". There you can see all of the annotation tools on the menu. Choose the one you needed to put in the PDF document.
