How to Add Picture to PDF Files in Mac

Solution 1: Adding Pictures to PDF with Preview in Mac

Actually we can easily add a picture to the existing PDF wit the help of Preview in Mac, the generally idea is to save the original PDF to image, then convert it with the image we want to PDF again, here are the step by step tutorial as below for your reference.

Step 1 Open the PDF with Preview and click File -> Export... to save as an image.

Step 2 Open the converted image with Preview again and drag the new image we want to the thumbnail area.
Note: Make sure the Thumbnails is selected.

Step 3 Select all of the images and click File -> Print.

Step 4 Click the dropdown button and choose Save as PDF..., OK, the image is successfully added in the PDF.

This solution is totally free and convenient, but you can not easily place the image to where you needed, and the converted PDF is not searchable and editable, you might need to convert the PDF to editable formats with the help of OCR tools.

Solution 2: Adding Pictures to PDF with PDFelement

Step 1 Download and install Wondershare PDFelement for Mac

Click the download button to download the .dmg installation file. After you get it, install it on your Mac. If you have a Windows PC, you can download Wondershare PDFelement (for Windows). 

Step 2 Drag the "Insert Image" tool to the toolbar

Click Customize on the toolbar to reveal the tool list on which you'll see the tool Insert Image. Just select it and then drag it directly to the toolbar.

Step 3 Add image to a PDF

Click Insert Image on the toolbar to browse and open the image you desired to insert into the current PDF page. When you do this, you'll see the image overlaying the current PDF page.

Click on the image to reveal the light blue border. And then drag it to the right place on the PDF page and drag to re-size it. It is very easy, isn't it?
