Gerarde Thompson LLP is a well-established local Law firm employing over 50 personnel top-down from partners, legal team, to office managers and accounting team. An office with traditional practices and old-fashioned ways of paper-based communication, they are looking to embrace digital and overhaul their processes to be more efficient.
In 2013, Gerarde Thompson looked to Wondershare’s PDF editing solution to understand the different achievable possibilities that is easy to learn, implement, and scale. Understanding the potential stress and confusion with internal process change, it’s imperative to provide a software that is easy to use.
First thing Gerarde Thompson wanted to tackle was the paper process. Acknowledging the fatigue with physical paper along with the cumbersome practice of storage, documenting, and searching, everything needed to be digitized while embraced by all employees.
Prior to working with Wondershare, we were wasting countless man-hour digging through client files and resources trying to find that exact page and specific sentence - I don’t even want to think how much time and money was wasted on this. On top of that, we were buying reams of paper every month wasting thousands of dollars on postage and envelopes.
Gerarde Thompson researched into software, products, and systems to help them with scanning and converting scanned documents into a searchable format. With an advanced scanner in the office, they did not want to spend on a physical product specifically made for scanning and converting but an all-in-one solution that is a plug-and-play with existing tools.
Gerard Thompson got everyone to utilize OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to begin the process of digitizing and becoming paperless by mandating all new documents be scanned and slowly backtrack to scan files from the past.
